Trends: Love and Hate and Ikat

Written by  //  July 16, 2012  //  Fashion, Fashion Trends  //  Comments Off

I have a love-hate relationship with ikat patterns. On one hand, I don’t want to look like a hippy college student taking a few too many smoke breaks; on the other, the pattern is interesting and has just enough graphic flare to be a statement piece. Tone down the teenage factor by keeping the silhouette classic and pairing ikat pieces with a solid pop of color. A black and white ikat pencil skirt with a bright neon colored shirt is a perfect mix of pulled together and avant-garde.
