Trends: Military Games

Written by  //  August 31, 2012  //  Fashion, Fashion Trends  //  Comments Off

With the hint of fall weather, loads of fall trends are springing out of the runway and onto our streets.  The current military trend we are experiencing has been heavily influenced by the world’s love of the Game of Thrones series.  Because of this, the trend is not all rigid, precise tailoring and pencil skirts.   It has a wild side with velvet, peplum flounces and bright, fun prints; layers and lush fabrics.  A silky Mary Katrantzou dress underneath a cropped corset top for structure and a fur-lined, leather jacket is a perfect example.  Pair that with some heeled boots to make it a little less feminine and a little more tough. With these fabrics in our wardrobe we won’t have any trouble getting out of our warm beds and braving the cold outside.

Mary Katrantzou long sleeve dress / TIBI peplum top / Parker silk top / Sass & Bide corset top, $1,020 / Burberry military jacket / Bllack by Noir leather jacket / Ted Baker wool jacket / Anthony Vaccarello military skirt, $1,005 / Report high heels / Nina Ricci fur bag / Bib necklace / Valentino rock jewelry / Collar necklace / Green jewelry / DANNIJO drop earrings / Charlotte Russe stud earrings
