Last night was the kick off for Charlotte’s Fashion Week 2012! At the Charlotte International Fashion Show, the talent showcased was undeniable. With retailers like Old Navy, and Saks Off 5th, down to 17 year old designer Jacqueline Fogarty, the Fashion Show was the event to attend. Designers from near and far came to showcase their talent and they did not disappoint!
The first to come out was Old Navy. Their kids line, and their adult line had a great selection of vibrant Spring 2013 colors. Old Navy had a wider selection of styles, and colors as opposed to previous years.
One of my favorites of the night was Vestique Boutique. Based out of Raleigh, NC, the duo plan to open their second store here in Charlotte soon. The colors, the print, and the material were remarkable!
Saks Off 5th came out with a bang! To say that their look was elegant, and classic is an understatement. Even though they used mostly dark tones, it’s not hard to find an everyday look from this line!
To represent for the larger women, Scarlett Plus Size boutique came out last night. The floral dress had to have been the highlight of their showcase for me. The way it flowed, and the criss-crossing of the back was nothing short of raw talent. Can’t say it wasn’t touching when the models did their final runway walk, and the designer stopped midway and kissed his wife. Beautiful!
Ajnel Designs was an adorable children’s line based out of Florida. The way that she tied vintage looks into her modern apparel makes her line even more unique.
The most impressive of the Charlotte International Fashion Show hands down goes to the 17 year old designer Jacqueline Fogarty. Her line was beyond impressive, and her prints were incomparable. I can guarantee that within the next year or so you will see her in New York Fashion Week.
Emerging designer Claudia Melendez was also one to showcase her talent last night. She used a lot of silk like fabric in her collection which brought a lot of elegance to the line.
Founded in Columbia, South Carolina Éclat Designs was the last the designer showcased last night. They used a lot of bright patterns in their clothing, and it seems to have worked! Compared to any other line, they used a lot of textures in their looks.
