The Charlotte fashion community gathered last Thursday night in their most fashionable attire at the first annual Style Night Out event at Morrison shopping center in South Park. Event organizer, Effie Loukas, brought together 37 boutiques to take part in a fashion runway presentation to showcase the best of their fall looks. The event began with pictures on the pink carpet in honor of the event’s proceed beneficiary, Carolina Breast Friends. Loukas along with news anchor Natalie Pasquarella co-hosted the event and kept the crowd excited and engaged with their commentary on each boutique’s collection.
The show was similar to the event’s predecessor, “Fashion Night Out”, also organized by Effie Loukas and held at the MET in 2011 and at NC Music Factory in 2010. Fashion Night Out was created by CFDA and Vogue as a global event which began four years ago an in effort to encourage the community to support local boutiques and bring awareness to local businesses in a fashionable way. With the DNC in town on September 6th the date of Fashion Night Out, the event was moved to the following week and re-named Style Night Out to create an event unique to Charlotte.
